This is probably the worst book I have ever read in my life. However, I was able to finish it, so I guess that’s something. I had to skim over a lot of the super cringy dialogue and sex scenes, and several times I had to check my progress thinking “this has to be over soon, right???” I don’t think I’ve ever left an actual review for a book, but I have a few things to get out before I do whatever I can to erase this book from my memory and kindle library.Here are a few of my thoughts on the book:1. (most importantly) SHE IS 18 YEARS OLD AND IN HIGH SCHOOL. 18 years old and in college is creepy (he’s 31), but 18 years old and in high school felt super pedophile-ish. Especially with his obsession with her school uniform...2. Everyone is sooooooo immature. The dialogue felt like a soap opera written by high school sophomores. I almost had to pop a Xanax from the cringe of this book.3. What high school has a fall break? Why didn’t they make it spring break so she was at least ALMOST a high school graduate?4. Her parents... wtf. How are they so blasé about the whole thing? She married a 31 year old man she knew nothing about, and they just sent her off to live with him without checking him out first or even checking in on her after she moved over halfway across the continent.5. Why in the world would they basically try for a baby the second they met/ got married? She would have been 8 months pregnant at graduation if they hadn’t gotten lucky.6. Natalie. Whyyyy???? Why was this even in the book? And the stuff with his parents? Awful.7. Weston was terrible husband. He was awful and jealous and controlling and neglectful and mean. Wren was a terrible wife. She was catty and didn’t communicate her feelings at all and, well, she was a high school student with zero relationship experience. So I guess I can’t blame her as much, but c’mon.8. This book is sooooooooooo longgggggggggg. Like they could have ended it halfway through and it would have been just fine.9. What’s with all these people walking in on them having sex and it not being awkward? Ew.10. CRINGE x 10000000000. I had to stop reading a few times because I couldn’t handle the awkwardness. Ughhhhh. The dialogue... the interactions with his friend and her parents... THE TATTOO. OMG I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THE TATTOO. WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA!?!? Ugh. I need a nap. I need to forget about this book.I could literally go on about everything I hate about this book for hours and hours, but I think I made my point. With a good editor and a lot of changes, it could be a decent story. The bones of it are fun for a paperback romance novel, but it just didn’t hit the mark.
